Dondoo
An interactive world map, filtering and a custom API, development since 2022.
About the project
Dondoo is a travel guide to what not to do abroad — it maps local customs, taboos and faux pas country by country. Since 2022 I’ve been responsible for development, including the filtering logic and a custom API.
The key idea
At the heart of the site is an interactive map — content loads through a custom API, so switching between destinations is instant.
Responsive version
Every section is responsive — the layout adapts from mobile through tablet to a widescreen monitor, and the content stays readable at any width.
Custom API and filtering
Destinations and their rules are loaded through a custom API. Filtering runs on top of the data, narrowing the content down to what actually matters to the visitor in a given country.
Editable ACF blocks
The site is built from ACF blocks — the client can edit, move or add any section themselves, without touching code and without having to call me for every change.
